There are several threads dealing with various issues of selling photos, both direct sales and through stock agencies. have a poke around in this forum and I'll bet you find all the answers you want.

Angelo is right Dave. Guess what... Smugmug is going to be offering a stock photo service for us to sell our photo's through even. Doesn't get better than that.
