calling all professional photographers - do any..

... of you use www.yourdomain.smugmug.com ?? or do "real" professionals register there own domain and then do the cname thing so you can have your site as www.yourdomain.com?

i was thinking of do the register thing but then got to thinking.. I mean part of me kind of thinks that having the smugmug.com in your url might set it off a bit?

oh , and me? It wouldn't really matter, I am working to becomming a pro photographer and I know I have a long row to hoe but just wanted to know what the "real pros" think/view such matters.

www.yourdomain.com, as you say, it looks more professional, especially if it ties in with your emails etc.

exactly. and it only costs about $9 per year. its worth it.

It would be best to secure your domain name now and start off this business with it already established. Much more professional all the way around. Good luck!!

ok, thanks - I think your correct - I am just starting so I might as well do it the correct way up front instead of having to change things down the road.. again thanks for all the feedback
