Loser (non)Challenge: Blue

Welcome to the first Loser Game! The Theme is: Blue. This round is open only to LPS nonfinalists of rounds #1-5!

It will run from Monday, May 14th 00:01 (12:01am), NYC time (GMT -5) to Monday, May 28th 00:01 (12:01am), NYC time (GMT -5)

Please see this thread for the history behind this unofficial noncontest.

Please follow standard LPS rules: 1 entry per person, and the photo must be fresh, taken during this contest period. Entries must have exif embedded or appended. Click here and here for help. Photos entered without proper exif showing a clear shot date will be mocked.

Each person entering must also submit their own top ten list at the end of the (non)challenge based on the enteries submitted. This is how we serve as our own judges.

We'll keep all posts to this topic to THIS thread, please.

The person who gets the most points at the end will get a surprise. From me. It is stupid and small and you'll like it.

    I found it helpful to kickstart some ideas by looking at the Wikipedia definition of Blue.

    Rule Clarification
    In order to keep the "Loser" "Non" Contest in one thread here is how this "Challenge" will work.

    All posts for feedback can be submitted in this thread up till Sat. 26th (12:01am) ET B]Friday Midnight[/B. After that only posts to this thread for Sat. the 26th and Sun. 27th will be photos submitted for actual challenge. These need to be Marked "My Entry" in the title bar and all entries need to have a Title or Name as well.

    Challenge closes Mon. 28th (12:01am) ET. "Your Top Ten", not counting your entry, can be posted to this thread starting Monday.

    You can also use whipping post and all other forum categories for feedback as long as your photo fits into that theme.

    talking/shooting/brainstorming are great - we just don't want to confuse or scare/intimidate away new people that come to this forum looking to get into the LPS Contest. As you all know, it's a fairly complex contest already...

    If you enter and lose, does that make you a double loser? Not sure I want to risk losing the loser's round mwink.gif

    Since this is a "non" contest there is no "winner" so therefore no "losers". deal.gif
    Hopefully just a collection of great "blue" photographs.

    Based on everyones top ten we can rank the photos by number of top tens they made. Their are no "judges" just your piers picking their favorites.

    I never entered the other LPS contests. But I do feel like a loser so can I still enter?:D

    I would love to be an "official" loser.wings.gif

    Also, maybe there should be a prize for the one with the least points based on the voting.

    They could be crowned the "Biggest Loser":ivar

    I know this is a joke, but doesn't hurt to reiterate: no voting, no points. Clear? We haven't even made it through one full cycle of the LPS yet - that takes ALL precedence.

    It was a joke, but I thought the plan was to have the participants (all in this thread), vote. Incorrect?

    I guess I'm not clear on what this "Loser (non) Challenge" is supposed to be.

    You can pick your top ten but there will be no voting poll or thread. deal.gif
    Just everyones favorites- it will give everyone a chance to see what styles each other likes.

    Feel free to leave comments as to why you picked your top ten as well.

    If you feel it detracts from the LPS we can move it to Technique as a Quarterly Assignment/Challenge at the next semifinal.

    5 time loser here
    I was planning on taking a break from all this losing but, what the heck...
    Was in San Francisco for a conference and ended up cutting out a lot to take photos. This one is one of my favorite and hits the 'blue' theme. Paid my dues for it too - wasn't able to cross back after sunset and had to pay an obscene amount of money for a cab ride back to the hotel from Marin.
