Colleagues: If you love horses and like to see them in action, just click on my Smugmug photos of the annual Charlotte, NC, area Queen's Cup Steeplechase. About 18,000 showed up this year--and more come every year.

    Horses,Horses: Queen's Cup Steeplechase
If you like horses and exciting action, a steeplechase is a fun place to go. This particular one is in the Charlotte, NC, area, and is held annually. About 18,000 went this year and the crowds get bigger every year. The horseflesh is magnificent. Just click on this link to my Smugmug site:

good stuff! I always find it funny how the horses know that they can crash through half of the jump. If that was a cross country course it would be a log, not a bush :D

    short stirrpus... crazy...

Excellent gallery. clap.gif You probably would have gotten more responses if you had included a couple of shots in your post rather than just the link to the gallery.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks, Harry. You're probably right, and I intend to do so. Of course, I must refresh myself about the process because it has been so long.

Thanks for the response. Yes, those stirrups are very short, but I guess it's because the jockeys don't sit down much during the race. Neither do I.:D

Here are a few more shots:

just FYI, a couple of these images seem to be on the green side. The one I linked is slightly green tinted, and the last one you posted is pretty green.

Good eye. I shall work on it to get rid of the green cast. Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the feedback. Some of the shots are too green; I need to eliminate that green cast while I learn more about Photoshop CS3.
