One horse I photographed was being trained by a guy on the board of directors, he liked the shots and is going to pitch having me photograph for the show. It's a nice gig if I can get it. clap.gif

Thanks Gary and Skippy! Yep, the rider was fine, but a bit embarassed and muddy. It POURED the night before, you can see a puddle behind the horse and see all the mud splatters on the other horses and fences. Poor girl made a nice "plop" sound and was muddy from head to toe. Luckily the mud made for a soft, albeit dirty, landing.

    Careful Posting Crashes!
    Christina,

Your work looks great, well timed, exposed, corrected, etc., but be careful posting crashes as through they are the best part of your portfolio. I've made it a policy for years to take the next picture in sequence, the one where the kid who fell is up afoot and either remounting or walking away healthy, or to not post until I have a request from the rider or a parent. A lot of folks are either embarresed or don't want to look at the sequence that resulted in a broken bone...

You will stand out from the masses of digitogs out there!

    Thanks Mark,
I know the rider who fell. As a rider myself I know that the equestrian world is a very small one with very large egos. She was mad (about falling for a few minutes), but after de-mucking she went another round. That's why she entered the warm-up class, thinking the 2' warm-up would be a nice way to get her horse ready for the 2'3" greens.

a lot of these pictures are really good! i would like to say though that you really don't know the rider who fell and you don't know if she was ok. she is my best friend and i was with her all day and you never went over and asked her if she was ok or asked if you could post those pics of her falling. she was not embarrased at all from falling... but you wouldn't know because you didn't talk to her. she was mad at her horse like anyone would be if they bucked them off. she got sergery on her foot a few days before the show and the fall didn't help the recovery. next time before you go say you know someone, you know they are alright and you know "that's why she entered the warm-up class, thinking the 2' warm-up would be a nice way to get her horse ready for the 2'3" greens", i would go talk to her and not just make something up to write on the internet. that isn't the reason that she entered the warm-up class. i urge you to know what you are writing next time you post a picture and write something about it.

I'm sorry that you seem upset, I would be happy to speak with you about this. PM sent. And, I did speak to her, in fact I talked to her at this past weekend's show too when she was riding in the greens. I have the big grey percheron stallion. She had good rounds and Redline got some nice shots too. Their address is www.redline-race-pics.com

that wasn't the point. i know you talked to her this past show because i was standing right next to you guys. you didn't talk to her before you posted the shots and you didn't ask her permission to have them up on the internet for the world to see. you should just think about your actions because it can cause some people a lot of anger and humility.
