Beautiful daughter and a very nice capture. I would just say that the processing is a too strong. You are beginning to lose texture in her hair (looks like it's fusing together) and her skin has absolutely no texture. If you are using Noise Ninja you can cut back on the opacity. Watch the hair texture for clues. Very nice pic otherwise.
Thanks guys for the c/c! I will have another go at that image to see if I can improve it based on your input. Here is another that I toned down the PP slightly from what I did with the first.
The post still looks a little strong especially on her hand, at least to me. Maybe you already have this, but the best skin processing methods I've seen are in the book 'Skin' by Lee Varis. One method he outlines is all on seperate, linked layers and includes texture so you can back off easily on the opacity plus alter the layer mask if something doesn't look right. Tweaked skin should never be obvious, in my opinion.

I was so focused on the facial effort that I did not even notice the hand...and I agree it is too soft. Thanks too for the book reference!!

Will have to say though the second picture you posted looks better. The first one looks like she is almost about to smile but yet not.
I think i will pay attention more to portraits like this b/c i am going to be having to do some here soon i think.
