Concert in the Park

Both of my kids are in high school band.
Yesterday they (band and colorguards) had their (quasi-)annual Concert in the Park to celebrate the end of the season.
The concert is only a part of the full day program, which also includes games and BBQ.
Lighting was tough (harsh midday California sun + uneven shadow pattern from the roof rals),
but luckily I had my two PW-enabled Sunpacks on 10 ft poles :-)
Here are a few shots from the event.
Most of the action was happening here:
Kids playing soccer (of football, as it's called everywhere outside the US:-):
AM Jazz Band, sax section:
Kyle on keyboard:
Natalie on tenor sax:
Scene from a mini-play "The Devil Went Down to Georgia":
Wind Symphony, trumpet section:
Colorguard:

Thanks, man, it sure was!
Thank you!
Yeah it was a lovely Saturday.
Thanks!
(and check the Meeko thread in Animals, you gonna love it:-)
Everyone has a great time at these events, the young and the old.
I would be the first to tell you I never thought I would enjoy Orchestral type music, till I went and watched my nephew play in his School Band,
and I was gobsmacked I tell you
I even shut my eyes and thought my goodness me, these are kids playing this beautiful music.
Looks like you had a great time there Nik, thanks for sharing your day with us .... Skippy

Yeah, it was nice... I got a bit tired (almost 6 hours of shooting), but I got a few decent shots. And yes, music was nice :-)
