I'll be here in Japan for two months this summer. Any particular suggestions, preferably that aren't spectacular tourist traps? I've already been up to the Meiji Tomb, which was nice (though I couldn't actually get inside)...and have yet to head to the top of Kyoto tower.

Any suggestions?

    I don't know if this will help, but here's a link to our Japan travel journal from a trip we took in 2000. We covered a lot of ground in three weeks, so we may not have hit the spots that would be interesting to you, but we had a fabulous time!
