After dark, we really had a ton of fun lighting up the rocks and doing night shooting, star trails, and more camera-fun.
Smuggy is everywhere!
More to come, lots to process!

Many of the places have names and many don't...this is what made the
shoot successful. On this day, our guides, Gary and Murphy, brought us
very near the Shamen Panel for supper (prepared on sight BTW).
This was the view from our 'camp'. Simply awesome.

Don't read too much into it. This is an merely an age-old practice demonstrating one photographer's respect and love for the other. One step up from that is the phrase "Is that your tripod down in the muddy fly-infested ravine?" or "I pointed your 600mm f/4 directly into the sun to warm up your camera for you."
Looks like a fun trip I missed.

Anyway I have no idea what's Road Apple,
but it looks so M,m,m,m, tasty

Indeed it does look like it was a fun trip. Guess I know where next years tax return is going.

the desert is so cool!

First off, some of the roads were rough and dusty. But they were fun!
The guides made some great food. These fajitas were awesome.
Scmoo loves taking notes. She was often hunkered down with her journal, writing down all the stuff she just learned, or maybe just her own observations and musings...I never got to read it.
See?
Andy was always eager to help all, and was constantly making sure that we didn't forget our batteries, CF cards, etc.
And he took the occasional break to enjoy the scenery.
The scenery was breathtaking:
Marc and the guides drew maps in the dirt, while I struggled to keep my camera strap out of the picture.
And Schmoo took notes.
Can you spot Marc?

Fred. Loving it.
Sheila and Kathy sneaking up on plants.
We had one of the better photography discussions I've been a part of around this campfire.

What does Schmoo's shirt say? "I'M A MISS????...."
Chris: "I'm a Missouri Hick Chick," in reference to Missouri Hick BBQ. BEST bbq in Cuba, MO, on ye olde Route 66. The prime rib is excellent.

Hahahaha!
I'm gonna add that place--in case I get out that way. Mmmmm BBQ.
