Text box and actions

I have an Apple Script to do this, but I want to know if an action can. Apple Script can be slow.

The script notices the aspect ratio of the image, and places a text box in the lower-right corner, indented appropriately, and then puts a small copyright notice on the image.

The question: can a Photoshop action be written to place a text box in a specific corner of an image?

Lastly, when recording action B, is it possible to embed the playing of action A as part of action B?

Yes... if you always want the text in the upper left hand corner mwink.gif

Otherwise, I don't think so. When you record your action Photoshop is going to remember the position you place the text at realtive to the origin point. The origin in normally the upper left hand corner of the image. You could move the origin point, but you move the origin by dragging it. Because you have to drag the origin to a new position your action would only work on images that were the same size as the image you were working with when the action was recorded.

Yes. Just start recording action B like you normally would, click on action A in the Actions palette and click on the Play selection button. Photoshop will record a Play action "A" step in action B.

Dang. Now, I usually do make all my images the same size when I work on them (I have an action to set to 292 dpi w/o resampling, which makes my 20D images an 8x12). The window size, however, may not always be the same size.

    This might work...

Another option would be if I could have a PSD file that has one or more layers in it, also of the same aspect ratio and size, and have an action open that file and drop those layers on top the current image. That would be powerful, because I could include text, graphics, etc.

I thought I tried that and it didn't work. Will try again.

    Bill,

Did you have any luck getting Action-in-an-Action working??? If so, did you figure out what happened to keep it from working before?
