Not much cookin' today and what I did get was more or less a repeat of something I've already bored you with.:rofl

This is why I'm glad I'm an opportunist when it comes to photography...too much beauty out there to just zone in on one thing...even if you do that one thing to near perfection.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Flowers for some reason meet an early doom as far as replies go. After all, what can you say that hasn't been said over and over.

NICE, Super shot of an Iris. When taking my research shots of plants I always try to sneek in at least one "art shot". I too wish that there was a forum for plants (heck, combine it with insects). For awhile there I was not sure if theywere even allowed in this forum with all the great bird shots we get. But yes, I can see where the plants die a slow death as far as replies.

Well...if you have tried shooting little birds, particularly in the wild, then you know that the effort that goes into bird shots far exceeds that of plant life. Not to say that plants aren't as beautiful...just easier.

    I, for one, appreciate both.:D

I appreciate both as well, and I was mainly kidding.

However, if you had ever hiked into some of the remote areas that I have to find a particular subspecies or variety of plant (hoping it is in flower or even still there due to being endangered), it can require much more effort than one may think. We all know that in the end it is the photo, yet the effort to get that photo can be hidden.

bowdown.gif I'll give you that one...but it looks like that one came to you! No fair if you don't have to hunt it. Great experience... I have had Prothonotary warblers land on me a couple of times, but never on of those guys.

    Andrew

P.S. Please understand I ma not slagging anyones photos or subjects. I have prime on order so i can get more birds / small mammal shots as well. I just do plants for a living so I am little partial.

420mm, huh? What with the recent wildlife attack, I don't blame you for not wanting to get too close. rolleyes1.gif

When the birds don't cooperate one must find something else! I should take off the TC for shots like this.....but just when I did, the shot of a lifetime would show up. Very easy to get a nice OOF background this way. BTW, this is handheld as are 99% of my shots. Usually one out of every 3 frames is useable!clap.gif

    Thanks, Joel.

OOPS! Sorry Lisa. So many names to keep track of. A girl named Lisa knocked out my front tooth (well, part of it) in 7th grade.....and all I was doing was trying to drop a garter snake in her pants.rolleyes1.gif

I think you're probably nicer than she was.:D (I'll keep my snakes to myself)rolleyes1.gif
