Ok...so I'm down in San Antonio for an Avaya conference (2,400 in attendance - big crowd!). Avaya is what used to be AT&T and Lucent's telephone/voice mail equipment division. So I'm here for a PHONE conference and WHO shows up for the keynote speech???....Steve Uzzell! - National Geographic shooter, etc, etc. Very cool! He did a motivational talk on problem solving and had lots of his photos in the background, describing how this or that photo presented a challenge, etc. He would have a few photos leading up to the WOW photo...showing how persistence pays off, studying your subject, etc. He related that to problem solving in general for us telecom folks. Just thought I'd share. Me being an amatuer photog, I thought it was really cool that he was the speaker.

    I went to his site last night and attempted to watch the video, but it just wouldn't play for me. :cry I'll give it another shot tonight. Great idea for a motivational talk!
