From my St. Croix visit. You may say he isn't wildlife but then you weren't there to see how much rum (he's into this pirate thing) he consumed. :booze :slosh :slurp

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Aaaaargghhhhhh you kidden me matey? That's not wild life..that's drunk and disorderly. :D Change of pace? Change of pace? They are still birds and calling Vierra a change..well. rolleyes1.gif Nice set Harry. Always good to see an eagle or two. What I don't understand is why these large raptors don't just hold up a talon for those damn crows? It would all be over in seconds. Silly raptors.

Thank you Ben. You don't have any eagles :yikes I'm so sorry, I won't post anymore eagle shots then (easy since they have migrated away and won't be back for a bit). I can't speak for you but I wouldn't live in a place that had no eagles. rolleyes1.gif

The "pirate" was very tanned as he's outsidesin the Vrigin Island's sun most days (usually he's laying inert on the beach with a major league hangover).

The smoke has not been a problem during my visits to the rookery.

Thanks Ric, I'm sure he got the scarf because it matched the color of the dinghy.

He was drunk but hardly disorderly. He was a lot wilder than some of the puppies and kitties I've seen posted here. rolleyes1.gif

Shots from Viera are a change of pace from shots at the rookery. I have found Raptors to be pussycats unless they are hunting for food or are having a territorial dispute. The smaller birds ae a lot more agile and the eagle would have expended a lot of energy if it tried to catch it and it probably wouldn't be able to anyhow.

Last year in Viera a barred owl took over the eagles nest and they didn't give it a fight, they just moved to another tree.
