Bull Moose
It's raining out here today, so I was going over pics from last September's vacation and came across this one. I have over 300 frames of this guy and it was easy to miss one. I was very surprised that I was able to get a decent shot handheld at these settings.
Exposure Time (1/125) Aperture f/5.0 ISO 800 Focal Length 150mm 20D with the 70-300 DO IS lens.
Taken along the Androscoggins River south of Errol, NH.

I swear there is a black cord tying the antlers to that COWs head. You know with a little P.P. in P. S. you would never know you tied those antlers on that COWs head. How you got her to hold still for the head gear aplication is the real amazing part. Nice shot Ric.

Many years ago, in Yellowstone, I was close enough to a cow that I could have done that!
Thanks, Albert.
(I'm assuming that you know that the cord is what's left of the velvet)
He looks like a Rabbi Moose. They are just about the most awe inspiring creature up close. Thanks Ric for posiing these. A tremendous animal.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

To quote Gene Wilder from Frisco Kid.....I thought "everything is big in 'da Texas"!
Yes, I think this fellow has seen many a winter. I'm glad he was around for my pleasure.
Thanks, Stephen.
