Its a rotating set of bells (six) with smaller ones outside that row (four of the smaller) and its turned by hand & as it turns on this crank handle the bells all peel. Its about 5 feet in diameter in an iron decorative frame & each of the larger bells are about 12" long.

I think ive seen them used as town warning bells in old spanish/mexican westerns.

Anyone know what they are called ?

The only one that comes to mind is a carillon. Pehaps like this?

I don't think I've ever seen one, Gus. Note to self, watch more John Wayne movies.

    No..not at all.

Imagine one of these (minus the rat)...but chest high & the bells sit around the outside & a crank handle goes through the middle so you can operate the bells.
Ah, okay, now I know what you mean, but I have no idea of a specific name, I'm sorry.

Rumor had it that in 1919 or 1920, the famed electrical genius, inventor and scientist Nikola Tesla was secretly working on a vandagraph generated acoustic ice cream maker that was to be ultimately self powered. The earlier proof-of-concept test units might have been hand cranked or water powered.

Gus, might it be possible you have one of these? If so, I'd bet it would be of interest to history, and also quite valuable.
