Strange exit page path

Since I have begun using StatCounter to monitor my visitors´ habits, I have noticed several cases where a visitor gets a file on his own harddrive registered as the exit page. In every one of these cases the path to the file is below an MS Frontpage temp dir.

What gives? Is this an indication of attempts to copy my picture files?

Best regards,

Hi David, in order for those that can help to help you, more info would be needed. Links, screen grabs, etc. ear.gif

Thanks, but since yesterday there haven´t been further cases, and since I haven´t paid for extra log space at StatCounter, the cases I noticed until yesterday have been flushed out of the log I have access to. ne_nau.gif

I will be back with more information if it occurs again.

    Thank you for your answer.

I bet this is what you were seeing. I am seeing it as well.

I cannot tell if it is someone that is caching or maybe stealing.

Also a heads up that Statcounter has added 400 entrys to your free log file. You have to manually add them in. But, it is a pretty usefull tool.

It comes extremely close to what I was seeing, except that in each of my cases (three or four), the path on the client´s harddrive was always involving some Microsoft Frontpage temp directory - the folder "FrontPageTempDir" was always in the path. It hasn´t appeared again, though, since the day of my first posting in this thread.

I am aware of the enlarged log sizes - I´ve added the extra 400 already.

Thank you so much for your answer. Andy.....can your tech people make something out of docwalker´s screenshot?

Here is one. This time, I cannot see which pages the visitor has been visiting, but there is a strange path appearing for the exit page again:

Could your tech people comment on this? I´m not saying this is happening because of any flaws on your side. I gather this could just as well be happening because of something going wrong at StatCounter.

    Thanks in advance.

Yeah, not much for us to comment on - Statcounter is where you'll need to ask - we just serve up the images to the viewer's computer. Not sure how Statcounter handles things on its' end....
