Insect Head @ 5x

This guy's too big to fit in the frame of a 20D. Got a few others, but decided the 5x head shot would do for tonight.

    This is a dobsonfly, I believe. The whole length was probably over 2 inches.

    It is quite interesting. I was noticing what appears to be a dent on its left eye. That and what appears to be light receptors on top of the head.

    Reading a bit about these dobsonflies says that they are harmless to humans, but at 5x I wouldn't think so!!

    Actually it looks pretty good -still a lot of detail in that eye... thumb.gif

    I recently went to F16 at 3x with my rig and I like the results.
