This afternoon was the final DCL (Boston area Metro West) cross country ski meet of the season. It was a blast to shoot.

This was the strongest girl. She led every heat she was in:

By the time she got to the final turn, nobody else was close:

The boys were more evenly matched. This is a early heat:

By the final turn 327 was clear:

But there was strong competition from other heats:

And the semis were both close:

All in all it was paradise for photographers. Great overcast late afternoon light and great looking kids.

I even got a little brave with my shutter settings.

But I think I need a lesson and some practice with my pan shots.
If not now, when?

Great shots Rutt, I particularly like these two, they really capture a sense of action and determination!

My daughter has a x country match (run) on Saturday, so thanks for the ideas & inspiration.

Great series! It's always funny to see people skiing in shorts and T-shirts.

    Rutt,

I agree. It all looks great thumb.gifthumb.gif Action, good looking kids, decent light and lots of photo ops. Can't ask for more than that (well, you can ask, but be prepared to be disappointed...lol)

Nice color and really good exposures clap.gif

    Thanks for sharing them,
