This is one of my favs from my old NYC set. She looked like she was dreading the work day. It was about 7am or so on a weekday.

Great composition and it does look like she isn't too happy about the day ahead. I'm not to sure how I feel about the purple look the the background, but other then that I like it.

Actually it's an Alienskin Exposure Black and White film filter wasn't ever meant to be purple. Might be your display is "cooler" than mine. And thank you kindly, by the way. :)

could you post it all in black and white? I think that lady would end up standing out anyway, because she's the only one facing the camera in the foreground. I think the fact that she's in color actually makes it look like you photoshopped in from a different photo.

    just my .02

and yes, it definitely has a purple tint.

Ok, I started with desaturating the magenta in the pic which really killed the purple everyone but me sees(maybe my eyes are broken). however, with the last comment, I decided to try with total desaturation and remove the color extraction.

IMO, the color extraction gave the photograph a 3d texture.

I would use a square crop starting from top left corner but that's just me.

The selective colour in the original post does nothing - just distracts. Did you notice the women seem to go against the current?

firstly, that's not current it's folks waiting for taxi's but I see your point.

And secondly, you should rephrase saying, the color extraction does nothing... for you. :P

I get the point, you folks don't care for it. And that's perfectly ok. I still learn from these experiences. To each their own.

    like it...
I really like the composite she is placed very well over all in the photo, personally I wouldn't crop anything. She looks really pissed .

The black and white looks excellent. I am not trying to be a jerk about it or anything it does look purple on 2 different LCDs for me. Do you use the spyder or another calibration method? It might help.

I think the selective coloration on straight up B&W would be interesting but honestly the composition really does hold its own as is.

Great picture, I love it! She does have a way of standing out in that crowd. Nice shot! Oh, and the original did look purple, but the desaturated looks just fine:D .

As much as I dislike the blunt selective-colour technique - I actually prefer the first shot - yes it's purple and the lady is green - fine with me. I personally would have gone much easier with the selective colour thing (that is, I would leave just a trace of colour in the lady).

The B&W version is a good one too - no, it's not a Pulitzer winning shot - but it's a very good shot and a definite keeper.

    Thanks for posting

    Cheers,
