Hi all - finally decided to wave some of my photos around!!

This one is my stepdaughter - impromptu photo session (she doesn't often ask to be photographed).

There is something in this shot that I just can't put my finger on (other than the big knot next to her head!!) - feels like it's just missing SOMETHING ...

Any ideas? Be tough - I have very thick skin!!

I like the shot but her arm doesn't look comfortable. Like she was afraid to let her right side rest on the tree.

I'm thinking maybe the crop needs to be tighter. There's too much tree in it for my taste. I guess I just feel like portraits need to make the person pop. Anyways, it's not like it's a terrable picture.ne_nau.gif

This is my first post, so hello. :) Hayley is so beautiful, she got me to delurk. :)

I agree with Paulcao's statement above. Perhaps something like this?

    (I hope you don't mind)

Welcome to dgrin, and congrats on delurking!!! clap.gif

I really love the shot either way, each has so much potential. This is a great portrait and I think with some careful cloning out of that big knot, could be a real showstopper. She is really gorgeous, and natural, and warm in your depiction...well done!

She is gorgeous. To be honest, I was so busy looking into her eyes I
didn't even notice the knot at first. ;)

Thanks for looking and commenting evorywhere, Paulcao, Bernard and Lynne!!

I think Pyrtek hit the nail of evorywhere's comment on the head with his version mwink.gif (and no, I don't EVER mind reworks) .... there is a lot of tree there and the vignetting certainly minimises without cropping the actual shot!

Back to the drawing board to get rid of that knot ... I wasn't going to do all that hard work on a shot I wasn't 100% happy with!!
