For our vacation, the DW and I went to the John C. Campbell Folk School (home page link) for a week away from newspapers, telephones, internet, and most other things modern. There were NO locks on the doors! Anyway, I took a short photography course and the following is one of the shots I took:
We arrived Sunday evening. Monday morning I was able to capture this photo. The haze you see is the closest thing to percipitation we saw the entire week we were there. In fact, they were/are in the middle of one of worst drought they have experienced in quite some time.

I'm frustrated with the weather out here because of the moisture and haze, but you captured the sunrise perfectly. I do wish there was slightly more definition in the clouds, but I am pretty sure that what I see here is what was actually out there.

The lack of definition in the clouds was due, in part, to the smoke blown in from swamp fires further south (from FL and GA). Even a CP filter would have been of limited use, given the angle between the clounds, me, and the sun - way to close to zero to make the CP of much use.
