Hi Gang,
Here is what I came up with using my D200 and 105 VR.

It's a new lens so I wanted to put it through its paces.

Comments and criticisms are very much welcomed as I want to improve.

Thanks.

I labelled this one wrong in my photo; I believe it's a damsel fly?

The pics are not showing up. Do you have external links enabled at your pbase site? I am just copying and pasting the address in my browser.

Edit: Okay, I viewed them and all I can say is wow! The first one is gorgeous with the stamens (?) of the flower really standing out. You handled the DOF really well in that shot. Curves is a nice shot as is the dandelion, but on those two I wish the DOF wouldn't had been so narrow, but they are very artistic and well composed. Nice detail in all of them.

    hi stephen,
Thanks for the comments. One of the first challenges i faced when i started using this lens in the field is controlling the DOF. I had it on automatic focus for about the first 5 shots and then i almost pulled my hair out b/c it would hunt tofocus. So i flipped it over to manual focus and it was a bit better.

even at f8 DOF is very narrow. They were shot handheld so i tried to keep the shutter above acceptable range to avoid blurry photos. Perhaps it's best if i shot them with a tripod and smaller aperture.

Thansk for your comments. Appreciate them.

No problem Vince, but the photos still aren't showing up. I bet you would get more comments if they would show up. Right now, you have to right click on each red X and go to properties, then cut and paste the address into your browser. I also had to switch to Explorer because the boxes do not even show up in Firefox.

Other than that, fantastic shots once again.

    Hi stephen,
Im confused. The images show up for me on my computer. I clicked on the 'insert image' icon and cut and pasted the url address from my web page and the images show up for me. Am i the only one who's able to see them? i've posted here in the past without issues.

Can anyone else confirm that my photos are showing up here?

    thanks again for the comments.

I can't see them using Safari on a Mac. Just blue boxes with question marks.
