I went out this afternoon with my camera to see what was about and I came across a Bee Orchid. I know they grow in the wood but I thought I was about a month too early to see them so I was delighted to see it

When I walked back out I was something moving I took a closer look and found a family of these.

They are not normally seen in the wild, I guess someone lost a working pair and they bred.

They were surprisingly bold and came within 3 feet of me. I did wonder whether their eye sight was defective because they kept peering at me.

Anyway a great afternoon with some small Nature and Wildlife

I like the flower. #2 is good except for the leaf. It's too bad that we can't figure out how to get animal in the wild to co-operate. If it weren't for the leaf that would be a great picture. But it is still thrilling to see something like that in the wild.

How lucky to capture the babies. It makes a mundane walk a joy, doesn't it? Nice shots. I don't think we have that wild orchid around here. Where is this taken?

Thanks Kgarrett, I went back to try to see them this evening, but they have moved on...

Hi Netgarden, The orchid was shot outside Cambridge UK. They are establishing in quite good numbers now, if only the deer would stop munching them...

They are ferrets, usually kept as pets. I used to have two when I was a child. More entertaining than a Guinea Pig. These seem to have escaped and bred. This is a youngster, I also saw two adults and several other young.

    Thanks for looking
