    Wonderful capture. I agree those darn backgrounds always goof up a great shot. Nice exposure too. Just thinking, maybe cropping much closer might take away part of the massive fence rail.

    A good trick to minimize disturbing backgrounds is to zoom in more. The exif data on this file indicates a focal length of 25mm. By getting a bit further away and zooming in you not only gain the ability to get tight on your subject, but you also get tighter on your background, so there's less of it. You can be more selective about what's there and what isn't.
