Utter frustration....

I saw a wild turkey just a few miles from my home yesterday. I boogied home, grabbed my camera, flipped it on to reformat my memory card and zilch, nada, nothing. My batteries were dead! I charged them up and went back to the spot to find no sign of Mr. Turkey. But I did see a painted bunting, a very colorful perching bird. I tried to get a shot but it hid in the brush after only showing me its beautiful feathers for a scant 15 seconds or so. I returned home to find some fledgling mockingbirds in the yard. Not what I was expecting but since I had all my gear I took a few shots and even these didn't turn out as good as I had hoped. In my rush to set up the tripod, I didn't lock on of the legs and as I was getting ready to shoot, the leg gave way. I caught everything. No harm...but. Argh! Then I couldn't get my dern tripod level. Some days......:scratch

Shots aren't too bad:D...I consider them amazingly sharp for a falling camera!!

But, hey, at least you didn't loose any gear.

Well actually the falling gear came after these shots. mwink.gif But then my flash wouldn't fire on what would have been some pretty good low angle shots of the fledglings, but oh well....:cry

Good captures Stephen and I know that frustration well. When you're prepared, nada. When you're not ready every bird comes out of hiding.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
