Epson R4000 paper not straight blues -- help?

I don't seem to have a reliable method for loading 17" roll paper on my epson r4000. It often ends up with the dreaded "paper not straight error" an da too wide left margin (and skewed.)

This seems to have gotten much worse recently, or perhaps it's just bad luck.

Anybody wh similar experience? Suggestions?
If not now, when?

suggestion: talk with epson and then report back what they tell you. Cannot help other than that as I do not own the 4000 and do not use roll paper.

    Good luck.

I only have expercience w/ large format roll fed printing. So this may not be the case w/ prosumer models...
Try opening up your machine and clean the grip rollers (rubber wheels that push and pull the paper) w/ isopropyl alcohol (get good stuff that has 90% alcohol or greater) and Q tips. There are usually sediments on roll paper that ensure the paper doesn't stick to itself when it's wound that end up on the grip rollers.

It never hurts to locate the media sensor and clean that while your at it. Most media sensors are small shiny black squares that are at the edge of where the paper sits. You should be able to find it in your owners manual though.

    Hope this helped a bit.
