Do I need release forms?

Hi,
Could someone please tell me if I will need release forms to display password protected galleries displaying one photo. So far I have only photographed people I know and received permission verbally to use them in my portfolio. I am planning on giving people the option of public or private but public would mean displaying one picture in a password protected gallery. Could I word it in such a way on my website so people are aware of what public means? I would not use them in my portfolio without written permission. firstly, a password protected gallery is not a public gallery. did you mean to phrase that differently?

regardless, you don't need releases IMO.

It can be in SmugMug land.

Password and public settings are two different things.

'Public' shows the gallery to logged out users, regardless if a password is set. Set public to 'no' and it will not show to logged out viewers.

Thanks for replying....let me rephrase. The 2 options I would like to give clients are password protected public gallery displayed on my website with one picture or private gallery not shown on my website or displayed to the public. Could I make a statement on my website that all public gallieries will be displayed under my gallery section password protected without using a release form? Sorry for the confusion.
