Hi all
I'm so busy and far behind, I am spinning! Got the Jasper photos processed this a.m. I have been playing around with the curves function alot, very unscientifically and gut reaction - y. So please tell me if these work for you or not.

Steve, what you did to it is nice. But the photo was nice to start with, too. At first I couldn't figure out the difference. Then I did, don't know which I like better.

I love that bit of red with all the other white. Perfect, Ann. I love your photography in general, you really have an eye.

Ginger, I just brightened the canoe a bit and added a little brightness to the tree. Then roughly added a gradient to the sky to take away some grey.

I really like that second shots. All the pics work for me. They make me very happy that I'm in Florida.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Hi Ann,

I like them all too, but actually I like the first one most. That is quite the spectacular view. Thanks for sharing.

Well, that certainly has POP. I would really like to know how you got the end of the canoe to be defined from the snow on the lake ...I jsut couldn't seem to make that happen.

I have mixed feelings about the blue sky - it does look nice, but it was snowing and dull and grey but still beautiful, so..

    Hi AJ

That one is from the ski hill (Marmot Basin). The sun would come out for a minute or so and then go behind a cloud again. I imagine that the view is really spectacular on a sunny day.
    Thanks

Ann, all I did was use Select>Color Range, and then select the canoe itself. Then I used a curve layer on just the canoe to brighten it. As far as the sky goes, as none of us were there(except you) it's totally plausable. But YOU were there and your picture is how YOU remember it. Nothing wrong with that. It's your memory.:)
