It was curvy. It was just superceded by what you were feeling. :D

It might just be me, but I think that curvy subjects are more emotionally "grabbing" than angular subjects. The ones that are my favorites are all curvy.

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that 7 of the 10 entries chosen as finalists will be the curvy theme.

Of course, the odds are with me. mwink.gif By my subjective evaluation:
    51 entries were predominantly curvy
    32 entries were predominantly angular
20 entires were either ambiguous, or had both elements

    #6 - A Bug's Life (amazing contours)
#15 - Meandering through the Valley (such a classic shot, don't you think?)
#43 - Spring Fresh (i saw spring in that shot, and spring makes me happy!)
#47 - Sunrise (i love how bright the yellow looks against the black)
#64 - Rain Machine (i can't quite decide why i like this shot, it just looks so fresh and original)
#79 - Chevy (i love the motion in the photo)
#90 - Before the Judgement (such a philosophical shot. i wonder where it is)
#102 - One Step at a Time (can't help loving it!)

i don't have a top 10, but here are my maybe's. really amazing shots, but i had a little doubt.
#22 - Archway: i really really like this, it's an amazing place. i just wish it wasn't an angled shot
#99 - GameSetMatch: would have been a perfect curvy shot for me if it was taken within the courts. i guess the idea was to capture angularity of the fence, but i would have thought the player's motion was an interesting twist to curvy.
#100 - Ticonderoga Venti: i'm not sure about the shadow, but the mug and pencils make an interesting shot.

    Indiegirl,

Welcome back and we all hope your daughter improves every day! Having had 5 of my own...been there, done that, got the tee shirt! Started out with 2 premies...2# 13oz and 3# 4oz (and probably your age) ....when they did NOTHING for premies. The first has run 13+ marathons (Boston [top 10%], NY, Chi, etc etc) and x # of 1/2 marathons and the other little one is 6' 4" and the proud papa of 3 beautiful girls. clap.gifclap

Each of us has had challenges with the growth and develpment of our kids and we thank you for what you did pictorally that made many relate and know that there are others out there who will support them through the difficult times. Thank you. bowdown.gif

It was great fun to see I have made it on 3 of your lists so far and it gives me great pride to make that with my peers. We are all up against such wonderful, experienced photographers and it is great fun to be pushed to our limits by them!! This was a challenge as many of us had the same idea. .....and #7....OHMIGAWSH!!!....how cool are the judges for pushing us? Bet many of us have the same idea and we have to be better than someone else with the same idea!!

    Best Regards,
    Maureen
