Hello All!

I've decided to take a break from PSE 4.0 (mac) and try Gimp. It appears that Gimp does not support CRW format without a plugin. So far the only one that appears in my search is UFRaw - http://ufraw.sourceforge.net/. Has anyone here used it, and what are your impressions - (ie should I reload PSE - LOL!)

I'm on a intel iMac (OS X) and the Gimp version is 2.2.11

Thanks in advance for you comments! http://s3.amazonaws.com/advrider/icon10.gif

Hi. Sorry for the late reply, but I just found this thread.

I am a linux user, so I use the Gimp almost exclusively. I have UFRaw installed, and it works great for me. Once installed, you just open a raw file (in my case .nef, rather than CRW) like any other image, and it brings up the raw loader. There you can tweak settings and get a live preview of your image. It works pretty seemlessly for me.

I have to admit that I don't shoot in raw all that much. But in the cases where I do, UFRaw gets the job done. Hope this helps.

I don't use a plugin but I do use the GIMP when I need to do serious editing. I use Bibble to do my RAW converting and basic editing in one. It will run on Windows, Macs and Linux. Not sure if that helps ne_nau.gif
