Hi, truth is it's a lucky shot. She's raising a little one in my favorite Ontario wilderness park and she got real upset when I ventured too close to her nest. She flew so close I thought she was going to attack me.

Have a great day,

Well done, Bob. I for one, never tire of osprey shots. I love these majestic birds and am lucky enough to live within 45 minutes of at least a dozen nest sites around Rice Lake. I tend to photograph them a lot myself.

I have no doubt it was trying to intimdate you. Many of the osprey around the nest sites I visit often fly over pretty low while looking right down the barrel of my lens. It's difficult to tell mom from dad as both do 'nest duty' when there are eggs in the nest. I have watched them trade places a number of times.

    Nice catch.

You captured it well for under attack mode! ;~)
I often wonder how much we really are bothering them. Occasionally I'll leave if they seem really upset. I felt guilty going down there 4 days in a row to try and catch the fledge. I felt like I might have interfered with that or the feedings. But they were so full grown, I don't think it did any damage. Pops was getting used to us, lol.thumb.gif
