Thanks a lot, Bob. I find that by bringing the images into CS2 and using the shadow/highlight function helps bring out detail on the underside. You also have to be careful not to expose for the sky as that will underexpose the underside of the bird. I always shoot in manual mode and after checking exposures for the blue sky at 90 degrees to the sun, I open up about 2/3 of a stop for starters, then check my first few images.

Thank you, Stephen. It's quite common for these to be looking right back down the lens at me. I think it might have something to do with intimidation when I'm around the nests.
