Hello all!
Just wanted to see if someone could help me with this. I created a scrapbook community and am trying to associate a photo with it for the communities page. I read the help file and it says to do this:
So, yeah, if someone can help me out with this, that would be great! Also, come and join. Believe me, scrapbooking is a granny-hobby no longer :wave

My only problem is this: When I go to the gallery I've associated with this community, I pull down the Photo Tools menu and this option is not available. Is this only for non-standard users? Is it under another menu? If so, I can't imagine which one.In the photo tools pull-down menu, you'll see an option for Highlight Gallery (community).

you may associate this gallery with one of your smugmug communities". If you click on "smugmug communities" it will give you the option of joining communities, once you have they will show up in the drop down menu under communities. This will associate the entire gallery. That is how I do it, I don't know about the method you were looking for, but I am sure it will be explained.
Currently I've three of my own galleries in my European-Smugmuggers community and in all of them there're only the standard photo-options.
Obviously it works for some...http://www.smugmug.com/community/...half of the communities already got a picture beside their names. Maybe the feature is just not yet completely rolled out?! ({JT}!?)

I'll keep trying at it. Thanks!
my photos go here

Just as a clarification. The help says:
"Choosing a photo to represent your community
On smugmug's community page, some communities have thumbnail-sized photos by their names. To display one for your community, navigate to a gallery you own that's associated with your community. In the photo tools pull-down menu, you'll see an option for Highlight Gallery (community). Choose it.
The Highlight Gallery option will randomly display one of the images in the gallery. To highlight just one image, navigate to the photo you wish to display. Then pick Feature Photo from the photo tools pull-down menu."
But there's no such thing as "Highlight Gallery" in my photo-tools:
Any ideas what's going wrong?
Thanks,
Sebastian

It actually always did. You must be using a Style other than Elegant. Was a nasty bug to track down since it worked for 99% of people and we couldn't figure out what the problem was. Turns out Elegant Small and the like didn't have it, which I never use.

Whatever, it wasn't important for me, but thanks for the fix.

We just barely figured it out ourselves.

OK I had a picture beside my community for babyphotography and now the picture is gone. I check my gallery and it is still associated with babyphotography's community, but there is no highlight gallery option under the photo options pull down. I checked using every option..smugmug, smugmug small, traditional...all of them.
I really want my picture back up beside the community. Need help.
Did the new change over take that option away somehow??

I hope you get an answer for this one. My pictures are still showing up for my communities, but I did go into photo tools and I do not have "Highlight Gallery (Community) either. In any of the styles.
Thought I would just mention it
