Hey Grinners!

I've been tossing around the idea of having the pic below enlarged, framed and give it as a gift to this happy couple. What do you think? Figure it's good enough for that sort of thing? Any tweaks i should make before printing?

alternatively, i could use this photo below... but i'm not too sure if i'd be able to adequately "rub out" the little dark spot between the two lovers! iPhoto is a little limitting...

any advice is welcome!!

Have a great weekend!

Get rid of that dark spot in the second picture (between the two). And use the cloning or healing tool in PS3 to take the make-up off her dress right under her arm. I could give it a shot; but I would need a much larger file. Send me a PM if you'd like for me to fix - you could send the file to me via e-mail and I can adjust and send back to you.

The first picture is a better one, the little lights to the left of him are cute and add as some sort of celebration (so I would enlarge this one instead). You might want to fix your WB just a tad or maybe your EV -1/3. I like the poses in both - they look very happy.

Catching these shots are no easy thing...I think you did a great job. I know they will be happy to see these pictures. Just clean them up a bit. thumb.gif

I really like the first shot, and I think the bride will find it more flattering. I agree the WB is a bit off, as the groom's face looks too magenta. Others might have more specific suggestions for you.....the smugmug skin tone tute is very helpful in these instances.

    Lovely shots!~!

15524779-Ti.gif - The second photo has her arm placed in a very prominent position and closer to the lens then the rest of the image. This has the impact of magnifying the size of her upper arm - not flattering.

And, the skin tone tute is a very good place to start when correcting.

Another reason to favor the first over the second - their emotions are more evident in the first.

Okay.... here is the improved image. What do you think?

    after:

Its funny, but, in iPhoto, the difference was quite subtle after the PP. Now, the second one seems quite washed out. is that just me? Does the new photo look okay to you folks. I'm looking at it now, and it seems to have a little too much green...

I could take this file to my photo place and have them correct the tones then print it, but i'd like to learn how to do it myself!

Urbanaries, could you include a link to the Smugmug tute you were refering to? i found something in this forum under "tips, inspirations, How too's and...", but not sure if that was what you were refering to. It mostly talks about how to adjust the tones in PS, so, i'm relying on my eye with iPhoto right now.

Anyway, let me know what you all think!

    Ciao!

    Tute for skin tones: http://dgrin.smugmug.com/gallery/1091766

    Skins tones look much better.

In the bride, the yellow is higher than the magenta value and that is what you want. However, the magenta in the grooms face is a little higher than yellow.

The image does look a little flat. Go into curves and set a white point and a black point. That should give it some POP.

Thanks for the info and the links. Unfortunately, i don't have PS, so i don't have the capability of going into "curves". I guess i'll just have to upgrade my Mac, and get PS!! ;-).... What i'll do is take this file to my local Photo lab, and get them to adjust the tones and print my enlargement. They're very knowledgable!

Anyway, thanks for all your help folks!! Have a great weekend!
