For the NYC Workshop on Monday, we headed to Brooklyn, to photograph the NYC Skyline.

The city was just on fire as the sun hit the horizon, lots of color and then the God-beams shot through the skyline:

35 minutes later, the lights are on and the sky was quite sinister, as a storm blew through and around us:

Canon 5D, Canon 24mm TS-E, 10-stop ND on board.

A previous effort, from last fall, here.

Wow, what great weather conditions for the workshop - that water is as still as glass! Those are both magnificent. Love the lights and dark clouds of the 2nd, but oooooh those pinks are pretty!!!! thumb.gif

Holy cow Andy, you've really outdone yourself this time. :D

Great shots of something that I already never get tired of looking at. I can't wait to see more photos from your workshop.

Wonderful images. The first feels unreal. The second is fabulous.

I really enjoy shooting when the intangibles cooperate.
35 minutes and 2 totally different shots that look good.

Did you bring a chair, or did you stand for that 35 minutes.

My favorite element is the water in the nightscape. Great shots! Thanks for sharing.

Love the shots. Not sure I care for the purplish cast in the second.

Great shots, Andy! I especially like the colors and clouds in the second one. I see you were shooting at Brooklyn Bridge Park - I love that spot for Manhattan skyline shots.

Great shots Andy. I particularly like the second one which is even an improvement over the nice one that you took last year. Did you find any advantage to using the 24mm TS-E lens compared with using a normal wide angle lens for these shots?

Isn't it amazing how a scene can totally change in just minutes. Great shots Andy.
