I did want all of the gun in, but he took a step back just before he fired & I couldn't get off my knees quick enough (too many pies ) to step back with him:bluduh

I like it. As usual, great rich color and an interesting scene
I'm not sure whether getting the whole gun within the frame would have made the shot any better. I mean, we can see that it's part of the starting gun. Having the entire barrel visible wouldn't make it more meaningful, or significant, IMHO.
