Any way to prevent scrolling?

I know I could prevent scrolling by selecting elegant small instead of elegant, but I was thinking, if the page stayed scrolled where it was, I could view in elegant and scroll so that the entire picture and the arrows for next photo will fit on the screen at the same time. Is there anyway to prevent the entire page from refreshing between pictures and just the main picture frame instead?
