Stupid newbie question

Hello.
SmugMug is certainly the best photo-hosting website I've seen. Unfortunately, I'm not really a photographer. For one thing, my camera sucks. I also never use it.
Anyway, I'm would like to see what I can do with your API (no, not in order to violate anyone's privacy or to do anything evil), but my trial period expired (while I was doing something else last week, when it was active). Being a non-photographer, I don't really feel like buying a subscription for my nonexistent photos (I also don't have any money right now), but I'd like to play around with the API. Can you help me out? A second trial period would be great. I'm not even positively sure that I need an SM account to use the API, but it looks that way, from a quick glance.
I wasn't sure to whom I should address this question, so here it is. Sorry for wasting a thread on this.
Best,
Bar

or just set up a new trial (requires new email address).

I did think of signing up for another trial, but when I went to
http://www.smugmug.com/price/free-trial.mg
I got a blank page, with a link that returned me to the price detail. That was in Firefox. I had enabled cookies and turned java on.
I tried it in Safari and now I'm okay to go.
All of these little moving faces around this text screen are horribly annoying. As a newbie non-photographer, I don't mean to complain, but isn't this a bit excessive? Doesn't it drive everyone nuts? rolleyes
Thanks,
Bar
