the third one is a good shot... it fits the theme quite well. the background needs to muted or blured some more...

    good luck

#3 -- but try a B&W conversion on it to make the background less distracting. If you add a custom vignette to that photo, it may make the background even less distracting. Go to: http://www.atncentral.com/download.htm and look for a Photoshop action called Custom Vignette 2.0 by Galen Evans. I've had good luck with that one.

You may also want to clean up the blur on the grad's right shoulder. mwink.gif

Try that action on the original, after you've done a B&W conversion. It blurs the background for you really nicely.

I have to say I really like #3.
You're only as good as your next photo....

Of the 3, Number 3 for sure.

Although B&W may or may not make it better.
Either way I think the DOF isolates them very well from the background.

#3 is definitely the best. The only problem I have with the background are the reds. Try gently desaturating and darkening the background reds; I don't think you need to hit them hard.

    Yep, #3
Desaturating the reds a tad will help too...agreed.

#3 is my fave. I like it in color b/c I like how the red rose ties in w/ the background. However, I agree with the last 2 comments about desaturating the reds/purples a little so they aren't so distracting. That will surely make this grad "pop" more. I like the DOF except I keep looking at the baby's head under the grad's tassel. Maybe he could be blurred a little more or the highlight toned down on his head?

Great shot for the joy theme! thumb.gif
