10 People to Help Me.

I took 5 sunset photo's tonight, I wondered if at least 10 people could suggest which one is the best - considering light, composition and content.

I have called them simply 1 to 5.

This would be much appreciated, because I don't know for sure which is the best, and I want to prove to a work colleague that I can take a good sunset photo! (He said he was better than me!)

So, here they are....

NUMBER ONE:

NUMBER TWO:

jpgsunset02.jpg

NUMBER THREE:

jpgsunset03.jpg

NUMBER FOUR:

jpgsunset05.jpg

NUMBER FIVE:

I have added no framing or anything like that in PS.

I would appreciate some feedback here.

Thanks in advance.

Paul.

    Paul,

First, I hope the comment about proving to a colleague, and he feels he is a better photographer is all in good fun.

For all I know he is better. Many, many here on Digital Grin are far better than I will ever be. Fortunately they are very willing to share their knowledge, and I just strive to be the best I can be. Because others are better does not diminish my accomplishments at all.

Next I liked #5 the best but on my monitor I see a green cast to the photo. I hope you don’t mind, I made a quick adjustment to the photo, and am posting it back so you can see if it’s an improvement or not.

I vote for number 5....realy like the amount of sky and also the reflections in the water and it does have a bit too much green in it on my monitor also...good luck

2 is good, 5 is better.
    Delete #3.

    Just my opinion.

#4 is the best in my book, closely followed by #5. Personally I think they've all got a bit of an odd yellow/green cast to them. Usually sunsets are more red than that.

    All are good shots though.

    Hi Paul

Here's my opinion of the five photos:

#1. My first reaction was "yup, it's a sunset". Honestly, I didn't find it too interesting.

#2. I really like this one. Nice composition, and I love the clouds. You might want to consider cropping a bit off the right side, to put your subject more off-center.

#3. This one looks like you shot it while driving in your car. It's blurry, crooked, and I can see the sun reflected in the window. I agree with davev, delete this one.

#4. Another nice one. A toss up between this and #2.

#5. This one would have been great if it was in better focus.

    I have to go with #2 & #4.

Thanks everyone for looking and taking the time to comment.

Number two appears to be the popular choice so I will go with that one.

Thanks Sam for correcting No. 5 for me.

    Once for, thanks all.

    Paul.

2 as it's more than "just" a sunset.
