More 1DMK3 Captures

I took the MK3 out yesterday for another test drive, some of the camera's custom functions really don't make much sence to me, adjustments that you think will produce fruit don't, So I just kept tweaking until I got the camera to consistantly produce sharp flying images, Frustrating to say the least.
It would be nice if the Canon techno types would release a cheat sheet with real world applications.
Anway I think I'm about there or at least as good as it's going to get for now, I'm sure as time goes on it will get better.
These Black cround night heron shots were captured in Noon day harsh sun which played havoc on exposure,

You did pretty darned good in what seems like a very contrasty situationclap.gifclap.gifclap.gif
Was it the auto-focus CF that you were tweaking?

Considering the light conditiones, I think it can not be much better than this. Good job, well done.

    Thanks for sharing,

    Dick.

Hey Russ did you get your camera yet, setting up the custom functions for flying birds is quite the challenge.

CFn3 custom functions take a lot of tweaking to get desirable results

When you get your camera let me know I will send you a copy of my settings.

    Thanks for the KUDOS

Thanks Dick for the Kudos, tough lighting, I kind of like the way the black underexposed backgrounds from the shaddows came out on these

    Thanks for the offer Steve.
I'm patiently waiting for the second shipment to arrive,
but in the meantime I'm busy reading as much as I can on the subject
as to know what to expect once I have it in my hands
