Is this a "back-focus" problem ?

I have had my D80 for a while now but only since buying a 70-200 f2.8 lens have I noticed this problem[?] . This looks to me like the subject is never sharp but just behind it is . I am wondering if it is a camera or lens error but when I downloaded a test sheet to photograph the D50 gave the same results , even when i triedit with the Tamron 17-50 2.8 . Here are some samples to comment on [Please take note: These are not for comments on composition !]

As mentioned , the D80 and D50 seem to give the same results . When I tried the D50 with the Tamron 17-50 2.8 the results were the same . maybe the test sheet is not the right way to do it but definitely in the other normal pictures it looks to me like there is an issue ?
