I found this little mama yesterday and couldn't resist a snap. I was afraid to get any closer for fear of frightening her.

Nice capture. She's well camouflaged in that tree. Blends right in with the bark. Great clarity! Feels like I'm peeking in through those trees myself :)

Beautiful! So delicate too. Might I suggest a tighter crop to eliminate the
leaves on the left side. Careful and not too much as to lose the camo look.

I agree! Very nice! I didn't notice much at first, but the big leaf to the left was distracting. Looks even better now! thumb.gif

Just beautiful Angelo. thumb.gif Finding a hummingbirds nest is quite rare, getting a great shot even more. Thanks for sharing!

I agree, she's a lil beauty Angelo thumb.gif The nest must have been in a small tree (or you're really tall...lol). We used to have a pair that would nest in a dwarf lemon tree (about 4 feet high). They'd come back every year and nest in the same place. Unfortunately, it blew over in a storm (the lemon tree), about 4 years ago, and they now nest about 30 feet off the ground :-(

Very nice capture and very gracious of you not to scare her off her nest clap.gif

    Thanks for sharing,

I personally enjoy the one lone brown leaf at the bottom of the shot. It almost has the same colors as the nest :D

    Great shot!
