Finally some new images of the little purple devils
All Canon gear: Xti (shutter priority 1/200, ISO 100) + 100mm macro lens + 500D diopter. MR-14 EX ring flash set to a 4:1 ratio and -2 FEC.
You can tell it's getting hot in this next shot. Dragonflies can't sweat, so they point their tails to the sun to decrease the amount of surface area exposed to the light. It was about 33C (92F) and I was melting...
