I have some specific issues with the PP (post processing) here, and am posting to get an idea if it is apparent to others, or just me. Any c & c are appreciated, thanks

I would actually use the rule of thirds here and put the eye on one of the thirds for more impact. Centered, it just doesn't "pop" enough for me. Also, what's your subject here? I'm drawn right away to the white in the photo-- not the eye-- and find myself wondering what the white is and why it's there. If that's the intent, cool. But if not, ask yourself how you could draw attention to the subject (which I'm guessing is the uncovered eye, but again, it's not obvious and it should be). Not trying to be harsh-- just honest and you did ask for feedback.

Funny thing is, if you look at him face on, his eyes are as round as dinner plates. But, I didn't touch them in post - they is what they is, as popeye might say.

well if thats what you wanted to see if someone else noticed, and it bothers you. Maybe you can select the rounder half and copy and flip it over to the left side masking out the inner part(reflection) and keeping the rounder edge.

Pete I think that is really good feedback and appreciate it. I didn't see conflict between the toy and eye myself, but understand why someone else would, so I burned it down a little bit. I think that was a really helpful catch - you are right, it was WAYYYY too bright the first time. My own opinion is that (and especially now that the white thing is less of an amorphous blob) the gesture and the facial expression should be enough to convey that it is a child hiding behind a toy, and for myself at least, I am immediately drawn to the eye - I think having the black and white right there make a strong enough contrast that even though the bear is light in general, it doesn't overwhelm. My #1 editor told me she thinks the eyes were unnaturally white the first go round, so even though I toned down the bear, I toned down the eye as well. I hopr there is enough separation between them now. The thing is actually a plastic molded bear from the zoo, it should be a little more apparent now that it is actually a bear. Thanks much.

You know actually, the issue I had was with his forehead really. With the original up, you can see the color across his forehead was really uneven, and he had a wierd kind of blotch by his nose that went up his forehead. I further worked it, and think it is a little better.
