    Great shots, all of them.

I have a little garden spray bottle that I use to spray on leaves or flowers if natural rain just isn't working for me. Did you find the large dew drops in image 1 naturally?

    Regards

Thanks VI, Skippy and Dave for looking and commenting :)
The fly didn't refract very well though :)

Dave - I have been known to use a spray bottle but these are natural dewdrop shots. The drop size in all the shots are actually small probably all less than 2mm diameter. Large drops go pear shaped.

I was doing this yesterday and now I would be VERY embarrassed to show off my work since these are so incredible!

Love that fly! Damn these are good shots!
Enjoy your life, it's the only one you get.

That second image is simply stunning Brian -well done!!

Have you thought about making a smaller diffuser for your flash? For those shots you don't need a lot of coverage, and it might help to cut down the reflection from the diffuser.

I have played with flash positioning in the past rather than the diffuser size. I can get drops with no highlights by changing the position but I actually prefer them with some reflection. The problem comes with how much which is not that reproducible.

I feel your pain -ran into similar issues trying to freeze water drops as they fell in front of a flower.
