Awww......how cute! I love that shot. You seem to have it cropped pretty tight, and may not be able to print as large as you'd like to, but I do love that shot:D .
PS....I'm a big fan of tight cropping as well.

Thanks for the feedback...the cropping did not occur intentional...I used my 50mm fixed lens and I needed to get in close enough to capture her eyes so unfortunatly, it cropped the top a bit.
    Thanks again...Scott

CUTE!! Love those eyes! I'm a fan of the close crops, too. My only critique would be to make them b/w in a different way than desaturating. What PP software are you using?

I am using Photoshop CS2. Someone suggested a book...I think the author's name was Kelly...they told me that it would really improve my B&W photos but I have not picked up the book yet.

Any advice on how you would make them B&W?

    Thanks...Scott

Well I am SO new at all of this, and I only have Elements, but I use a gradient map. I forget where I learned it --maybe even here. If you go to "new adjustment layer" it's one of your choices, and then you click on the white box and select the little box w/ black & white. Then you can play w/ your sliders a bit.

OR, you can go to "convert to B/W" on photoshop. They give you different options of adding red ,green, etc.

I'm sure there are much better ways to go b/w, too.

I agree...the conversions would benefit from some tweaking. At the top of the page there is a section called Tutorials. There is at least one written up on B&W conversions.
I like your other shots as well, but that first one is still my favorite!

Wow...that looks awesome! I was just reading on a few different ways to do B&W...how did you do it here?
    Thanks, Scott

I did the gradient map thing that I was talking about before. I also lightened the eyes a little bit w/ levels.
