The Battle of Kennesaw Mountain which ultimately led to the burning of Atlanta was fought between June 19 - July 2, 1864. Over 5,000 soldiers, North and South, were killed. The 143rd anniversary of the battle is being commemorated this weekend with the help of Civil War living history re-enactors.
