It is a darling shot indeed, and I can see why you are happy with it. One thing I notice (because I've had this problem more than once), is the greenish (almost the color of a bruise) shadows along the hairlines of both the Mom and the baby. It is also evident in the creases under her bottom lip and on her cheek. Were you shooting in the shade or near any trees? A little fill flash or a reflector would help next time you are shooting if that is the case. It is difficult to fix in PS unless you really know your stuff!!! I've had some luck with using selective coloring to lessen the effect. Skin tones may be a little magenta, but I'm not on a calibrated monitor right now. I'll look this evening.

It looks fine on my monitor. To be really picky, it looks as if shoulder is in sharper focus than faces, but it still works for me.

    Good capture!

Thank you for letting me know about that. It looks ok on my machine, but I'll tell you, I still need to read up on colors and looking at the numbers. We were under trees, so I'm sure that's where it's coming from.

Thank you for taking a look! It's possible the shoulder was. I went back and looked at a few others of just the son, and the darn tree behind him was getting the focus! Ugh! I still have a lot to learn though, but I'm glad you brought that up, b/c now I'll pay more attention! TY!

Wonderful shot! I just love it!!!

As for color, it took me forever to "see" color being off. Maybe why I liked b&w best for the longest time! If you're looking to calibrate your monitor on a budget, try the Huey (on Amazon for $79). Basically, it adjusts your monitor so that it shows colors the way they are in real life.... I dont' have that one - if you have the $$ there are better ones - but I hear it does a really good job!

I'm not even bothered a bit by the focus. But if you could find cuter subjects next time..... rolleyes1.gif

    Awesome!

Thank you Seneca, Cuties02q, and Andi! I appreciate the comments!
Andi, I think the mom is going to print this one, do you think the color is "off" so much that it'll look funny printed??? I did the Color thing in PSE, by clicking on the black and I thought it worked pretty well. Thank you so much for taking a look and giving advice! I'll see if I can find someone cuter next time, Laughing.gif! rolleyes1.gif
