Keywords for Search Engine Searches

Hello!

I know how to add keywords to images, but does this help with my rankings in the search engines? For instance, I want to promote myself as a "pin up photographer" so I make sure my pin up photos have keywords.

But does this help people find my site when they Google these keywords? I'm a little confused!

They are extremely effective in my experience - well worth the effort.
